Wacker Neuson telehandlers flex their muscle with powerful strong-arm performance

Wacker Neuson TH627

Wacker Neuson’s range of ground-engaging compact telehandlers packs class-leading performance and high payload capacity into a compact frame, offering far more than meets the eye. Excelling in lifting, loading, stacking, moving and digging functions, these big-on-power, small-in-footprint machines outperform comparable units and exceed expectations on virtually any job site where demands run high and space is tight.

With five versatile models available to the Southern African market, Wacker Neuson has specially tailored its telehandlers to meet the demands of even the most challenging high-pressure job site environments.

First in Wacker Neuson’s performance-driven telehandler line-up is the 1445, a compact powerhouse that delivers big results. With a stacking payload of 1.4 t and a lift height of 4.3 m, it effortlessly handles heavy loads while maintaining ample reserve capacity. Dynamic all-wheel drive, high payload, low weight and unbeatable manoeuvrability make the 1445 a true standout in its class.

When the job calls for stacking heights of 6 m and a 2.7 t payload, the TH627 telehandler is the trusted go-to solution – a truly versatile powerhouse and indispensable tool on any construction site.

The 3507 impresses with strong performance in a compact format.

“While this machine features a compact design and low overall height, don’t be fooled by its size,” states Glenn Theron, Wacker Neuson Sales Manager – Sub-Saharan Africa. “An impressive stacking height of 7.0 m and a 3.5 t payload, coupled with a small turning radius, make this robust telehandler deceptively powerful. A combination of stepless travel up to 40 km/h, integrated load-sensing hydraulics and smart driver assistance powers this machine’s maximum efficiency. The 3507 is proof that dynamite truly comes in small packages!”

Next up is the 3610 telehandler. Considered a true all-rounder within Wacker Neuson’s telehandler portfolio, this dynamic machine is prized for its versatility. The telescopic handler boasts an operating weight of 8.2 t, a maximum stacking height of 9.5 m and a payload capacity of 3.6 t.

These capabilities, paired with its three-part compact-enhancing boom design, make demanding material handling environments such as recycling applications the true forte of the 3610.

With a towering 9-metre stacking height and built to carry 5.5 t, the telehandler 5509 stands as the heavyweight champion in the Wacker Neuson fleet in both size and strength. A high-performance power unit that delivers exceptional torque as well as an ecospeed-PRO transmission are standard fitments in this flagship machine.

Wacker Neuson’s telehandlers have been meticulously engineered with efficiency, safety and operator comfort as core priorities, ensuring reliable performance, reduced operator fatigue and maximum productivity on every job site. Weighing in on efficiency, Theron highlights the combined brake-inching pedal fitted on all machines.

“This component ensures simple and safe operation, wear-free control of the working speed at high engine speeds and maximum working hydraulics even at low travel speeds.”

All models can be equipped with a conveniently placed 3rd control circuit pressure relief button on the side of the boom. This setup critically enables fast, effortless and safe coupling and uncoupling of hydraulically operated attachments while the engine remains running, significantly reducing downtime during attachment changes.

Moving on to safety, Theron explains that the all-wheel steering and undivided frame on all telehandler models provide exceptional stability even at full steering lock. “With steering angles of up to 40° on both front and rear axles, these machines offer maximum manoeuvrability, while maintaining consistent payload independent of the steering angle to ensure constant leverage ratios.” He adds that selecting the front axle steering mode provides precise guidance and control for specialised attachments, ensures safe high-speed travel on roads, and makes manoeuvring in trailer mode easier. The crab steering function on all models enables precise manoeuvring of the telehandlers in confined spaces, gentle driving to minimise surface impact on delicate or sensitive terrains and also facilitates accurate control when operating with specialised attachments.

Models 3507 and 3610 offer two selectable cabin heights to suit different operational needs. All models feature an elevated cab, combined with large, glazed areas and narrow cabin pillars, providing excellent 360° all-round visibility, enhancing safety for both the operator and workers in the surrounding area. A panoramic front windscreen ensures an unobstructed view of the attachment, supporting high work quality and allowing optimal monitoring of the work area.

Colour-coded switches and a consistent colour scheme for hydraulic, electric, driving, and safety functions on all models significantly reduce the risk of switch confusion. Theron emphasises that this unified operating concept, applied consistently across the range, simplifies fleet handling and further enhances overall safety.

The 3507, 3610 and 5509 models come equipped with a 7″ LCD display that provides operators with a clear, at-a-glance summary of all relevant machine data. The display also enables easy, intuitive machine settings adjustment with a user-friendly jog dial.

Designed with precision, performance, versatility and practicality at its core, Wacker Neuson’s advanced telehandler range is built to meet the highest materials handling demands across diverse job sites. Compact and highly manoeuvrable, each machine delivers rock-solid stability during even the toughest loading tasks and uncompromised operator safety and comfort. These telehandlers combine intelligent controls, smart handling and driving systems, and user-friendly interfaces with multi-mode steering capabilities. The result is higher uptime, increased productivity, and lower day-to-day operating costs. No matter the materials handling requirement, these reliable and versatile telehandlers are a worksite essential for any forward-thinking operation.
