Sensor specialist BAUMER will be displaying its leading range of robust sensors and encoders at the upcoming bi-annual Hillhead event, the UK’s largest quarrying, and construction exhibition. Visitors will be able to explore the latest absolute encoders, inclination sensors and speed feedback solutions engineered to withstand high shock, vibration, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

This event provides Baumer with the ideal opportunity to highlight applications across construction machinery, quarrying and aggregates equipment as well as material handling machines and vehicles. Typical application examples include crushers, screeners, conveyors, excavators, loaders, telehandlers, and mobile handling equipment. Supporting functions include boom and chassis inclination, steering angle feedback, shaft and drum position and speed monitoring.

Products on display will include the GIM600R, a highly precise, uniquely reliable and safety compliant inclination sensor, designed for mobile machines, offering verified accuracy up to0.1º and the latest functional safety compliance applicable up to PLd in accordance with ISO 13849-1:2023.

Also on display will be the MAGRES EAM 580RS absolute encoder, a PLd safety-certified encoder designed for mobile automation. With reliable magnetic sensing and CANopen® Safety communication, the encoder delivers robust performance in harsh environments, offering high resistance to shock and vibration, protection up to IP67, corrosion resistance up to CX(C5-M) and an E1-compliant design.

Robust cable transducers will also be on display providing precise position measuring lengths up to 50m for mobile machines, helping to ensure easy linear travel measurement.

Completing the range of products will be the EB360R Absolute Multiturn Encoder a compact, robust, and precise encoder for reliable and accurate positioning. The encapsulated bearing less design ensures protection beyond IP 69K, easy integration, whilst eliminating the need for exposed mounting.

Live demonstrations will demonstrate how Baumer sensors and encoders help improve machine accuracy, reliability, and uptime, while Baumer application specialists will be available to discuss direct replacements for existing sensors, functional safety options, and connectivity via IO-Link, CANopen and SSI.

The Hillhead event will also help visitors to learn how to exploit Baumer’s global manufacturing footprint, robust designs, and application support, helping to reduce risk and total lifecycle costs and their everyday operations.
