Duxbury expands wireless portfolio with Ceragon solutions in Southern Africa

Johannesburg 12 October 2026 – Duxbury Networking has signed a distribution agreement with Ceragon Networks, giving its reseller network across Southern Africa access to Ceragon’s licensed microwave and E-band wireless transport solutions.

The agreement will initially focus on Ceragon’s IP-50CX licensed microwave platform and IP-50EX series of E-band solutions. The portfolio gives Duxbury partners another option for more cost-effective, high-capacity network links, with stable supply and shorter lead times than current solutions.

“Ceragon Networks is a highly respected name in wireless transport, and we are excited to add their solutions to our portfolio,” said Teresa Huysamen, Wireless BU Executive at Duxbury Networking.

“Our focus will be on helping partners and customers address growing connectivity demands with proven licensed microwave and E-Band solutions. We see significant opportunities across the ISP, mining, utility, security, and enterprise sectors, where organisations require reliable, high-capacity networks that can be deployed rapidly and scaled as demand grows.”

Luca Giacobino, Ceragon’s President of EMEA, added, “Ceragon is pleased to partner with Duxbury to expand access to Ceragon’s wireless connectivity solutions across Southern Africa. This collaboration reinforces our continued investment in the region and will help more customers and partners deploy high-capacity, reliable wireless networks to meet their evolving connectivity needs.”

While fibre remains a critical component of modern networks, wireless transport has become an essential complementary technology, providing rapid deployment, network resilience, fibre backup connectivity, and communications in locations where fibre is unavailable, uneconomical, or difficult to deploy.

Different options for different network requirements

The Ceragon IP-50CX is a licensed microwave platform designed for access, aggregation, and backhaul applications. It operates across microwave bands from 6 GHz to 42 GHz and supports capacities of up to 6.5 Gbps in advanced aggregation configurations. The platform also supports 1 GbE, 10 GbE, and 25 GbE interfaces, allowing it to be used across networks with differing capacity requirements.

The IP-50EX series operates across the 71-86 GHz E-band spectrum. The compact IP-50EX supports up to 10 Gbps in a 1+0 configuration and uses adaptive coding and modulation to maintain connectivity as link conditions change.

Other options in the series address longer distance and higher capacity requirements. The IP-50EXP uses higher transmit power to improve reach and link availability. The IP-50EXA supports Layer-1 aggregation for E-band and multiband deployments, with up to 20 Gbps capacity in a 2+0 E-band configuration.

Wireless where the network needs to reach further

The practical use cases vary by environment.

At a mine, getting fibre to a remote or difficult part of the operation can involve considerable civil work and time. Ceragon positions its IP-50 portfolio for communications across these kinds of remote and challenging environments, including situations where fibre deployment is difficult or cost-prohibitive, or high-capacity redundancy for fibre is required.

For ISPs, the same technology can be used for backhaul, aggregation, and network expansion. Enterprise applications include high-capacity links between buildings, campuses, and other sites where an organisation needs to extend its network without waiting for a new fibre route to be built. Ceragon also supports utility infrastructure and other private wireless transport deployments.

Security and surveillance networks require high capacity and low latency for CCTV, command centres, perimeter monitoring, and smart security deployments. With multi-gigabit capacity and ultra-low latency, Ceragon’s solutions can provide a high-performance wireless alternative or complement to fibre where rapid deployment, flexibility, or redundancy is required.

“Every link has its own requirements around distance, capacity, and availability. Our role is to work with the partner on that design and help them select the right approach for the site rather than treating wireless transport as a standard product choice,” says Huysamen.

Duxbury will back the Ceragon portfolio with local pre-sales engineering, solution design, training, and technical support. This reflects Duxbury’s wider channel model, which places technical expertise alongside distribution and supports resellers through both solution design and deployment.

Ceragon marks 30 years of leadership in wireless connectivity in 2026 and continues to develop wireless technologies for public and private networks. For product availability, solution design, and Ceragon enquiries, contact Duxbury Networking on +27 (0)11 351 9800 or visit www.duxbury.co.za
